Brighton Half Marathon 2016 Result

Race date 28th Feb 2016.

2016 was the 26th year of the Vitality Brighton Half Marathon. One of the first major halfs in the running calendar, the race is now one of the most popular races in the UK. A small group of individuals started the race back in 1990 and the money raised from that very first race was used to help fund the building of The Sussex Beacon, the charity which organises the race. Over the past 25 years the race has grown in numbers and stature and it is now one of the largest running events in the south east and a significant fundraising event for many worthy charities and causes.

The race was won by Paul Martelletti (last year’s Manchester Marathon winner) in 64:53 and first female finisher was Leigh Lattimore of Harrow AC finishing in 75:52. Full results online.

Well done to Clive Downing, our single Strider representative in the race, running for Macmillan Cancer Charity in pink compression socks and white sunglasses.
