Calderdale Way Ultra result

Race Date: Saturday 4th June 2016

Famed for its iconic landmarks, immense scenery and runnable hills, the trails and fells of The Calderdale Way are a favourite among runners and walkers from the North of England.

You may have experienced parts of the course in The Calderdale Way Relays, or perhaps it’s part of your favourite training runs – up to Stoodley Pike for example. Be one of the few runners to complete the full Calderdale Way route in one go in our 50.5 mile Ultra-marathon. Competing as either solo or in pairs, you’ll race across some of the best loved running hills in the North West of England. The 50.5 mile option also carries 2 points towards the North Face® Ultra Trail du Mont-Blanc®.

Looking to compete in your first Ultra ? Ticked off the marathon ?

The 28.5 mile option is a great introduction for runners looking to make the step-up into running and competing in Ultra-marathons.

Well, this blurb obviously appealed to Simon Bayliss when he signed up for the 50.5 mile option, which he ran on Saturday. There were 35 finishers and 10 DNFs on Saturday so hats off and massive congratulations to Simon, who finished in 14th place in a staggering time of 11.20.26. Makes me tired just thinking about it!

The ‘race’ was won by Clark Hind in 08.33.50. The first woman was Jenny Brown in 09.32.49.
