Hardwick 10K Results

Race Date: Thursday 21st July

The Hardwick Hall 10K has entered into local history for the village of Pilsley and the surrounding area, with the event being held almost every year since 1981. After a break of a few years, the race was re-launched with the help of Pilsley Parish Council and North Derbyshire RC.

Starting and finishing at Pilsley Primary School, the Hardwick 10K is a hilly challenge involving a 70m climb. At the top you can catch your breath, view the National Trust’s Hardwick Hall and stunning scenery, before plunging back down the hill and returning to an enthusiastic welcome.

It was a very tough race in the July evening heat, but that didn’t stop 315 people, including our trio of Striders, from accepting the challenge of beating Hardwick Hill.

The race was won by Marton Dawson of North Derbyshire RC in a time of 36.31, but a special mention to our very own Jennifer Rich who was first lady home in 41.20. It wasn’t the only podium finish, with Caroline Brock taking 3rd place. Both won kit bags, though Jen’s was the size of a sleeping bag. Well done to all three!
