Race Date: Sunday 3rd July 2016

The UK Ultimate Half Triathlon is a demanding and much sought after ‘half iron distance’ event at the beautiful Dearnford Lake venue in Whitchurch, Shropshire. The event involves a freshwater multi-lap lake swim of 1.2 miles, followed by a picturesque 56 mile cycle and half marathon run in the countryside. Apparently this could well be the fastest half iron distance in the country, so ideal for those hunting PB’s.

199 men and 49 women took part in the event, including our two Striders, Adam and Kate. Well done both! A special mention to Kate for running an impressive half marathon time of 1.34.32 after the swim and cycle, and comfortably winning the women’s race. The men’s race was won by Thomas Garbett of Total Tri Training in a total time of 4.28.37.
