Warslow Beer Festival Fell Race Result

Race Date: 2nd July

This was the first time that the Warslow Beer Festival had featured a fell race.

“A most engaging and majestic perambulation. (Pith helmets recommended). Guaranteed to revive and envigour! Taking in the wondrous aspects of Ecton Hill, Sugarloaf and the Wetton hills. Refreshments and victuals abound!”

A fell race starting and finishing at a beer festival, whats not too like?

Well 1,750 feet of climb over 6.2 miles meant that any refreshments enjoyed had to be truly earned. Only 26 brave souls took it on, including solitary strider, Mick Timm who had to sacrifice his beloved mudclaws to complete the challenge.

The race was won by Billy Cartwright of Matlock AC in 57.35 and first lady was Ruth Keeley of Belper Harriers in 1.16.17
