Race report from Richard Pegg: ‘One word “infernal”. But a run is better than no run at all’.

The race begins in Cascais, and has a length of 42195 meters. The course follows the scenic Marginal road, along the Tagus River to Lisbon, and finishes at the Praça do Comércio, at the same location of the Half Marathon, which runs on the same morning.

The marathon was won by Bushendish Chemtan, Ishhimael of Kenya in 02:10:51. The first woman home was Chepchirchir, Sarah, also of Kenya, in 02:27:57. Full results here.

Two Striders braved the hot, cloudless conditions, one apiece in the full and half marathons; well done to both!
