Christmas is a time when athletes traditionally use the extra holiday to put in some quality training. Combine mirth with miles with this alternative take on the Fartlek theme where the athletes rather than coach dictate the distance of effort and the duration of the recovery.

Discover the lighter side of Fartlek but remember that what goes around comes around. About an hour or so over a variety of surfaces – trail or your old road shoes will do fine.
