On a cloudy summer’s evening the massed ranks* of Steel City Striders turned out at a pub near Matlock for a jolly jaunt through woodland and up a nasty hill to celebrate Ricky, although I’m not quite sure who he is or was. This is a deceptively tough, but fun little race which is more cross-country than fell, but has a couple of tough climbs and tricky descents making it challenging.

The race winners were Ben Cartwright (Matlock AC) and Lucy Taylor (Ripley) in 29:30 and 38:15 respectively. There were 126 finishers.
