The Tissington Trail Half Marathon is proving so popular that they run two separate events, one Saturday and one Sunday.

The reason its so popular is that its all downhill, 683ft of descent to be precise,sounds ideal to me.

Saturdays race attracted 131 finishers and was won by Mark Sands in 1:13:37 with the first lady home Sue Atkinson of Sheffield RC in 1:30:31.

Sunday was the more popular day with 340 finishers. Simon Newton of Ackworth Police won the race in 1:13:54 with Hollie Williams (unattached) winning the ladies race in 1:30:01

Two Striders let the brakes off and whisked down the hill in cracking times.
