Race Date: Sunday 18th October 2015
As I was having a weekend in Liverpool, I thought I’d do a bit of research and see if there was a race on and lo and behold, Croxteth Park was offering up a ‘Beat the Reaper’ 10k race which sounded like fun.
The race was 2 laps, each of 5km, through Croxteth Park woodlands. Hidden behind many of the trees were ‘Reapers’, ready to jump out at you, scare you and chase you so you ran faster. It was a great event with many runners dressing up in Halloween fancy dress and many runners were supported by their families, also in fancy dress.
The race attracted 428 entrants and was won by Paul Sankey of Liverpool Harriers in 34.45. First woman home was Emma Bailey of Barlick Fell Runners in 44.51. All finishers were rewarded with a dayglo orange tech t-shirt and a reaper medal. Very nice they are too!
