The club has recently completed the process of registering with Run England.
Run England is the recreational arm of England Athletics and Sport England which aims to get the whole nation running. For more information about Run England please visit their about us page.
Being part of Run England means that the club is now searchable via the Run England website and through its sister campaign; This Girl Can.
From the This Girl Can website “This Girl Can is a national campaign developed by Sport England and a wide range of partnership organisations. It’s a celebration of active women up and down the country who are doing their thing no matter how well they do it, how they look or even how red their face gets.”
As well as allowing more of the general public to find us, Run England can also support the club in training members by putting them through formal England Athletics courses.
But they can only fund these training courses by seeing new members registered on their website, so this is where you come in.
If you can find 5 minutes to register on the Run England website against Steel City Striders then there is a chance the club could be awarded some funding through the programme.
Remember to enter: Steel City Striders where it asks if you’re already with a registered group.
