As you have probably seen on the website over the last few months we have added Fell Introduction and Track Introduction documents to encourage participation along with Fell and Track introduction/taster sessions.
We are delighted to now be able to add a Cross Country Introduction piece to the site. Written by Jennifer Rich as precursor to a Cross Country Introduction/taster session that is explained below.
Cross Country Introduction Session
An introduction to cross-country session has been arranged which is open to all club members. We are trying to encourage as many people as possible to give cross-country a try and to get involved in the forthcoming season.
The session will take place in Graves Park on Thursday 3rd September at 6.45pm. You don’t have to have any previous experience of cross-country running; as long as you can run 5km, you can take part.
Road shoes will be fine for this event but you may wish to bring trail shoes if you have them. We will meet in front the Graves Park Pavilion, which is near to the Hemsworth Road/Derbyshire Lane entrance to Graves Park.
There will be an initial briefing followed by a warm-up, timed practice event and warm-down. We will then head to the Sheaf View pub for drinks which will be an opportunity to ask further questions.
The session will be organised by Jennifer Rich, Richard Pegg and Nancy Stuart with other experienced cross-country runners on hand to answer your questions.
So we can plan for numbers, please register your interest by emailing Nancy Stuart through the contact form on the website.
The session is free for all Striders to attend.
