Race Date: Tuesday 26th May 2015
The Hallam Chase is a different kind of race. The Hallam Chase is open to male and female runners from South Yorkshire road and fell running clubs, under a handicap system: Tortoises off first, whippets last, with the aim to all finish together. The course is 3.25mls long with 800’ of climb. An out and back from the cricket ground to the church gate at Stannington.
There was a brilliant turnout from the Striders with 23 of the 86 strong field coming from our club.This strong presence was rewarded with success as Jon Street was the first to cross the line in a time of 37.05. Well done to Jon and to all the other participants in what was a pretty tight race with some very close finishes.
