It was a glorious Sunday for the first race in the Accelerate Gritstone series and the second race in the Striders Fell Championship.

The Wolfs Pit race is almost 6 miles with 1500 ft of ascent, starting with a steep 600 ft climb. The climb on well cropped runnable grass takes you onto the open moor for some single track and open moorland running, with a final sting in the tail ascent. This then leads you back to the head of the original climb, where you can extend your legs for a final race down to the finish field.

Twenty four Steel City Striders completed this race. The winner was Dave Archer of Dark Peak who finished in 38 minutes and 44 seconds. The first female was Bev Cartwright of Matlock in 42 minutes and 43 seconds.
