Long Duddon fell race result

Race Date: Saturday 4th June 2016

The Long Duddon is a classic fell race covering 18 miles around the head of the Duddon Valley with 6000ft of climb over Harter, Hardknott, Little Stand, Swirl How, Dow Crag, White Pike and Caw.

The Short Duddon is run at the same time over a 10 mile course with 3000 feet of climb up Dow and Caw. Both are category A fell races so navigational ability, proper kit and some idea of what you’re doing are all essential.

There were 99 finishers and 11 DNFs in the Long Duddon, a pretty high percentage rate, so full marks and a big well done to Mick Timm, the lone Strider in attendance, who ran the 18 greulling miles in 4.56.38. I think this comment from Mick pretty much sums it up!
