Course was similar to the old South Yorkshire 1/2 marathon, crossed with a club mid-week training route. No road closures but on major road crossings, men with stop/go signs were halting traffic, route went through housing estates, round university, cross parks, into the countryside and lopped back, one moderate hill, including a 0.5 mile hill section of grass/mud, road shoes lost traction  The small field was offset by the first 36, were under 1:30.

Never ran before but enjoyed it, less than 50mins drive, well marshaled and in aid of a good cause (Living Without Abuse ). Their next event is at the Donington motor race course in November, another Half.

The race had 595 runners including our very own money man, Adrian Moss. Great effort Adrian, well done. The race was won by Stuart Spencer of Notts/Barrow runners in 1.12.19. The first woman home was Julie Warner of Shelton in 1.25.37.
