Race Date: Saturday 30th April 2016
More Striders on tour – this time Joe Buckman (again) and Emily Chaplais popped down to Wales to run in the Pembrokeshire Coastal Trail Series half marathon (actually 15.7 miles). The website offers this as an overview:
As Britain’s only coastal National Park, Pembrokeshire is justifiably famous for its rugged cliffs, quiet coves, expansive sandy bays, picturesesque coastal village and its abundance of marine life. The coastal trails here are wild and exposed, with undulating terrain and spectacular views. The course is challenging but the views presented to you around each corner make this a beautiful course that must be experienced.
The half marathon had 253 entrants and was won by Gareth Green in 1.46.11. First woman home was Sally Munro in 2.03.52. Well done to both Joe and Emily.
