Race Date: Sunday 25th September 2016
Regarded as one of the flattest routes in the country, over 12,500 people come from far and wide to take part in the Robin Hood Marathon and Half Marathon. Back this year with a brand new route, the course starts and finishes in the beautiful surroundings of Victoria Embankment by the river Trent, taking in such landmarks as Nottingham Castle, Wollaton Deer Park and Trent Bridge, as well as other stunning parkland. A great option all round for those hunting PBs, and there were (of course) some cracking performances from the Striders this year.
An impressive 6303 runners took part in this year’s half marathon, including our group of 7. Well done to all! The race was won by Barnaba Kipkoech (unattached) 1.05.55, and the first lady home was Winfridah Moseti (also unattached) in 1.12.57.
