Race date: Sunday 22nd October 2017
In what is hopefully going to be an annual event, the Redbrik Chesterfield Half Marathon took place in rather odd weather conditions; there were (brief) strong winds, the constant threat of precipitation, cloud scudding with a vengeance and despite all this … blue sky…. . Can’t say it wasn’t varied.
701 runners took part and Charlie Baker of Hallamshire Harriers scudded into Queens Park first in just 1:18:50. Strider Ashleigh Barron triumphed as the first woman across the finish line in a great 01:30:12. Brilliant result, Ashleigh.
