Race Date: Sunday 14th May 2017
3745 runners took part in the 36th Oxford Town and Gown 10k, including 3 Striders. The race turns Oxford orange with runners wearing stand-out-from-the-crowd orange T-shirts. The fast, flat 10k route is run around the closed streets, parks and rivers of Oxford.
The event is organised by and in aid of Muscular Dystrophy UK, a charity for 70,000 people living with muscle-wasting conditions in the UK. So far the Town and Gown 10k series has raised over £1.9 million, which is all down to the dedication of participants who sign up to the events and fundraise for the charity.
The race was won by Paul Fernandez of Abingdon AC in 32.34. The first woman home was Karolina Wasniewska of BIEGIEMRADOM in 37.35. Well done to all 3 participating Striders:
