Race Date: Sunday 15th October 2017
The Yorkshire Wildlife Park – Run for Wildlife 5k is held by Doncaster-based race organisers Curly’s Athletes in support of the Yorkshire Wildlife Park with the aims of providing a fun filled event, contributing to the health and well-being of the community, and raising sponsorship and awareness for the Yorkshire Wildlife Park Foundation.
914 runners took on the 5k course through the Wildlife park, with plenty of opportunities for jokes about being able to outrun the lions, and the first runner over the line (with all limbs intact) was Elliott Stones (unattached) in a time of 16:40. First lady was Claire Kelly (also unattached and unmauled) in a time of 21:55.
A number of Striders went on safari in search of a PB, listed below. Well done all!
