Race Date: Saturday 7th January 2017
Much less muddy but equally, if not more, enjoyable than last year were the reports I was hearing about this year’s Yorkshire XC event at Lightwater Valley.
The women’s race was 4.9 miles long (3 and a half laps) and had 155 entrants making up 28 scoring teams. The Striders A team came 21st out of 28 with the Striders B team finishing 24th. The actual race was won by Julie Briscoe of Wakefield DHAC in 30.24. Well done to the 11 competing Striders.

The men’s race was 4 and a half laps, 10400 metres, in length. 287 runners, including 16 Striders, took park making up 31 competitve teams. Striders A team came16th and the B team came 30th. The actual race was won by Emile Cairess of Leeds City in 33.47.
