Another beautiful sunny evening in the Peak District. We really are being treated at the moment.
Calver Peak fell race is a short 5 mile fell race with 275 metres of climb from the Derwentwater arms in Calver (near Bakewell). It takes in the limestone scenery to the South West of Calver and is a great fell race for first timers.
The green and golds showed up in force with 26 Striders running, and bringing home 3 first place prizes!
232 completed the race which was won by Dan Haworth of Keswick AC in 30 minutes and 8 seconds. (a long commute for a mid week race!)
First female was our very own Caroline Brock in 35 minutes 42 seconds.
Other Striders mentions to Paul Smith who was 1st V50 Male, and Nicola Rafferty who took 1st V50 female.
Well done all. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this one and taking photos instead.
