It’s hard to put it any better. It’s about 6 miles, the hill really is a beast, and the terrain on the way back down is hard on the ankles. A brilliant short fell race! Glossopdale Harriers take safety very seriously. There were kit inspections.
83 runners made it up the hill and down again, fastest of whom was Luke Beresford of Ripley, in 46:08. First female home was Jill Wood of Glossopdale Harriers, in 54:49.
The nuns were running in memory of a former club member, whose favoured Christmas fancy dress it was.
