Race Date 13 May 2018
This was the 33rd running of the Leeds Half Marathon, a firmly established highlight of the spring racing calendar with the claim of it being “Yorkshire’s Biggest Half” (although definitely not the best, eh Striders?!) The route starts in The Headrow alongside Victoria Gardens, heads out of the city centre, takes in a section of the Ring Road and returns via Abbey Road and Kirkstall Road before finishing in Cookridge Street alongside Millennium Square. It typically attracts around 9,000 athletes.
The race was won by Mohammad Aburezeq of Altrincham and District AC in a time of 1:08:06. First lady was Faye Banks of Pontefract in 1:22:03. Seven Striders took part, the first of whom was Nick Booker in a time of 1:28:27. First female Strider was Emma Whitehall in 1:56:14. Well done everyone.
