Race Date: Sunday 20th May 2018
88 runners finished the Meridian East Coast 10 Miler, which bills itself as “Possibly the flattest 10-mile road race in the UK!”. The race is an out-and-back course along country lanes, starting and finishing in Patrington Haven, East of Hull. The £17.00 entry fee includes a pair of branded socks, and the route runs past the wonderfully named Pant Drain.
The sole Strider racing was Simon Ross, who finished 34th in 1.17.05.
The race was won by Robert Weekes of East Hull Harriers in 57.09. The first woman to finish was Laura Kaye of the 100 Marathon Club, in 1.04.26. Well done Simon for representing the Striders!
