The Blaydon Race is a 5.4-mile event in Newcastle, following the linear route in the famous song of the same name and finishing in Morrisons car park, which may not be in the lyrics.
4168 runners finished, four of whom were Striders. The race was won by Graham Rush of Leeds City AC, in 25:33. First female was Alyson Dixon (29th overall) of Sunderland Strollers, in 28:24.
