5.8 miles through the Derbyshire hills, with 300+ metres of elevation = classic, awe inspiring, beautiful fell racing. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
Both congratulations and commiserations to Paul Sheldon – he finished in last place, but only because he broke his shoulder, falling over on the only flat bit of trail in Derbyshire – but he finished, and has attained legendary status in my eyes. There is almost nothing that can stop a Strider from finishing a race these days!
Get well soon, Paul.
The race was won by Steve Vernon, in a time of 36:17 (a new course record), first lady was Kate Davies, in a time of 46:53 (also a course record).
