Winter returned with a vengeance for this 10.3k race that follows a course on the moors above Marsden in West Yorkshire.  A pretty fierce blizzard preceded the race, covering the higher parts of the course in a couple of inches of snow.  Add in many (maybe all?) of the runners making a significant navigational error (we ran round one part of the course twice!), and wind on the high point in which it was hard to stay upright, and what could be a relatively straightforward race became something of a challenge.

89 runners finished, with a further seven who did not finish.  The race was won by Max Wainwright of Dark Peak Fell Runners in 54:18, and Katie Walshaw of Holmfirth Harriers (who was sixth overall) in 1:02:27.  One Strider finished – Andy Buck, 41st in 1:26:48 (third MV60).
