Litton Christmas Cracker 2019 report

Race date: Sunday, 8 December 2019; race distance: 12.2km/7.6mile

Litton Christmas Cracker is well worth an hour or two of any Strider’s time. It features precipitous descents, water (at least some years), the Bronze Age, mud, a Christmas tree, climbing and all the good things you would expect in a Peak District fell race, along with lots of clubmates to cheer you on.

Jack Agnew of Mercia Fell Runners was first round this year, in 54 minutes exactly. First woman (21st overall) was Sally Fawcett of Dark Peak, in 1:03:58. Fran Cummins was second woman, on a day in which several Striders finished top ten in their categories, with Alison Barrett being top-five for (at least) the third consecutive year.
