Race Date: Sunday 30th June 2019
The Normanby Hall 10k (or the Norman Bee) sell out event was back for its 5th year and hosted from the Normanby Hall Estate in North Lincolnshire.
The 10k route takes you past the crowd at the main hall before heading out through local villages during the annual Burton in Bloom festival. Local villages make their gardens look in their best possible shape and get decked out with flags and bunting ready for the runners.
This event, linking in with the Burton in Bloom theme, helps to raise awareness for Bumblebees so expect Bee based updates, Bee themed medals, t-shirts with many athletes deciding to go “full bee”, dressing up for the occasion. This has led to a special best dressed Bee trophy! Curly’s (in conjunction with the team at Habitat Aid) gave away a packet of Bee friendly wildflower seeds to every competitor at the finish lune to help support our pollinators friends.
This event is high on the list of favourite all time 10k courses for many runners…. it’s sooooo pretty!
The race attracted 692 runners and was won by David Robinson of Scunthorpe AC in 34.19. The women’s race was won by Natalie Burns of Lincoln Wellington in 38.10.
