Northumberland Coastal Half Marathon 2019

Race date Sunday 21 July 2019

The Coastal Run is celebrating its 40th year in 2019. The event runs from Beadnell to Alnmouth along a suggested and well-defined route, with Marshalls located at points along the way for approximately 13 miles, exact distances vary depending on the route chosen. The running surface is very varied and covers beach, track and road. The profile is reasonably flat with small undulations but it is strenuous due to the surface underfoot. The race is a runners event and not a fun run with a cut off time of 3 hours.

Almost 1,000 runners completed the race. Tom Charlton, of Tyne Bridge Harriers, won the race in 1:16:58. In the women’s race, Jane Hodgson (Morpeth Harriers) was first in 01:28:14

Ian Stinson was the first of a Striders trio in a time of 1:52:29.
