Trunce #9

Race date: 11th Sept

So the nights are drawing in and so the trunce had to end for another year. Twenty two striders were out to mark the close of the season, with many in fancy dress.

The race was won yet again by the all conquering Tom Saville of DP in 24.16

Sam Shaw of PFRAC was first lady home in 29.33

Season Results

Unsurprisingly, Tom Saville took the senior trophy for 2019, and fellow dark peaker, Ellie Crownshaw took the female prize.

Our own Charlie Narozanska won the VF40 series for a second consecutive year and I (Michael Squires) won the VM50 category having strategically turned 50 just before the first trunce of the year!

The trunce raised over £2000 for Woodhead mountain rescue this year with 50p of every senior entrance fee going to them as well as additional voluntary donations.

The 2020 season will kick off on  March 30th – the course will no longer cross private land with a new path being created over the winter but this will only be a minor route change apparently.
