Stride for Sheffield Day 2

After such a strong start to the challenge on day 1, there might have been some doubts as to whether day 2 could come close to matching it. Thankfully the people of Sheffield didn’t disappoint, managing to collectively rack up 303.6 miles across 36 entries. Rachel Rea perhaps deserves the plaudits of the day for her unique quadruple header of running, walking, cycling and scooting (!) 4 miles each for a total of 16 miles. I hope that this involved a full on race style transition between activities.

Building on yesterday’s great start, the Stride for Sheffield tour continues it tour of France, firstly to the City of Lights allowing some of our local marathoners the chance to visit virtually after the disappointment of the cancelled marathon. With miles still in the bag for the day, we continue onto the small town of Magny-Cours, home to famed motor racing circuit. Last stop for day being the small commune of Villeneuve-sur-Allier for a overnight layover ready for day 3.
