Race Date: Saturday 18th December 2021
With a last minute change to the Elsecar Christmas Trail race this two day event was held in the lovely country park of Rabbit Ings. Tucked away from the Christmas hustle and bustle of shops and markets this protected wildlife site gives the perfect opportunity to celebrate Christmas ‘Grim’ style with running, outdoor fairy lights, Christmas music and of course the post race Christmas Fayre.
On offer was a 1 mile fun run, a 5k, 8k, a 6.7miler, a half, a 20 miler and a full marathon so plenty to choose from. All the Striders competing took part in the 6.7 miler which was won by our very own Ben Jones in 42.00. The women’s race was won by Julie Adams of Danum Harriers in 51.02. 66 runners in this race altogether.
