Race Date: Thursday 9th December 2021
A fully marshalled, 5 mile fell race, in the dark! Full FRA kit (and head torch) required. The route loops north from the village of Hathersage, with short road sections, road crossings, cattle grids, boggy fields and woodlands to negotiate.
130 runners lined up at 7pm for the Hathersage Night Race. Euan Patton of Dark Peak won the men’s race in 33:01. Winner of the women’s race was Rachel Thorley, also of Dark Peak, in 44:11. Twelve Striders took part.
Seven race positions were unresolved at the time of writing (it was dark!), including Strider Andrew Mansfield. Based on his Strava data and his account of the race, we estimate that he is the runner in 31st place. No M/F category positions are available.
Provisional results are available on the Dark Peak Fell Runners website.
