Three Peaks Race 2022 Results

Race Date: 30th April 2022

The Three Peaks Race traverses the famous Yorkshire Dales’ mountains of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough and is one of the oldest fell races in Britain. It starts and finishes in a field in Horton-in-Ribblesdale with five checkpoints en-route.

First run in 1954, the Race covers 37.4 kilometres (23.3 miles) with 1608 metres of ascent and descent over rugged and spectacular countryside in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, taking competitors to a height of 723 metres above sea level.

There is a minimum experience entry requirement so check this out before entering!

This year Alison Barrett was the sole Strider in the field and finished in a time of 4:59:04.  That looks like a brilliant bit of pacing to get under 5 hours Alison – a great time, well done!

The race was won by Brennan Townshend  (Keswick AC) in 2:55:34 and first woman was Sarah McCormack (Ambleside AC)  in 3:23:21.
