Race Date: Wednesday 26th April 2023
173 runners in attendance on a lovely April evening for the Tigers trail race. This race is appox. 40% road and 60% trail. You launch yourself down Hathersage Road from the Tigers ground until the bottom of Limb Valley then it’s a trail slog all the way up to Ringinglow. Across Sheephill Road and up to the top of Lady Canning’s plantation.
When truly exhausted, it’s flat and then down across Houndkirk Road and adjacent to Sheephill again before popping out over a stile and along the road to Long Line. It’s not called ‘Long’ Line for nothing and there were several comments afterwards about how it seemed to go on forever.
Brilliantly organised and marshalled by Totley AC, this race is always a welcome indication that warm weather and mid week fell races lay ahead of us for months to come. Perfect!
The male race was won by Tom Perry of DPFR in 31.14. The female race was won by Philippa Williams, also DPFR, in 34.07. Well done to the 18 Striders in attendance, especially Jed Turner on his category win.
