Dukeries 10 race report by Hannah Wright

19th October 2024

Cut-off time is 3.5 hours

What a lovely wet and windy day it was for a trail. I wrapped up warm and headed over to Newark for the Dukeries 10…. Actually Dukeries 10.8 for accuracy.

The race HQ was at Walesby Sports & Social Club, which provided much needed shelter and toilets pre race.

The course takes a clockwise circular route on way marked paths with additional marking and Marshals present. The race was very well marked and marshals friendly and supportive… thank you marshals!

The route had everything a trail could hope for. Idyllic views, mud, puddles and friendly runners. This is the most friendly trail race I have been too and is welcoming to new trail runners. It was extremely female friendly with more female runners than male taking part.

Once back at race HQ you received your engraved medal, tea, coffee and biscuits.

Despite the weather I had a fantastic morning discovering the trails.

About Hobo Pace:

From the run director Ronnie Staton “My Nan left me a small amount of money in her will which I used to set up HOBO Pace. My Nan loved people getting together as a community and she loved to hear about my running adventures – she’d have loved HOBO Pace.”
