Race Date: Sunday 27th October 2024
Hosted in collaboration with Macclesfield Harriers and previously known as ‘Run Macc Fest’, the Macclesfield Running Festival returned this year with multiple distances on offer. Runners enjoy either a fully road closed half marathon, 10k or 5k distance, starting and finishing in the historic town of Macclesfield and heading out into the Cheshire countryside. The picturesque race is made even more popular by live performances from local bands, aid stations and communities of cheering spectators including the support of Macclesfield Harriers AC.

The men’s race was won by Ewan Heritage running for Sportsshoes in 16:12. The first female finisher was Eva Mion of Macclesfield Harriers in 19:46. We had one Strider taking part in this distance. Here is Edward’s result:

10k
The men’s race was won by Ian Fisher of Macclesfield Harriers in 34:20. The first female finisher was Vicki Cronin of Trafford AC in 36:43. We had two Striders taking part in this distance. Here are the results for Fran and Dawn:

Half Marathon
The men’s race was won by Tom Charles (Chorlton) in 01:10:55. The first female finisher was Molly Saville, also unaffiliated, in 01:24:08. We didn’t have any Striders racing at this distance this time round.
