This is a race so good that I was requested to keep it low profile to ensure it doesn’t fill up in a nanosecond once entries open for next year.
It is 10 plus miles of on and off road running at Temple Newsam near Leeds.
There were big puddles and mud from the photo evidence below so the definition of good may only apply to those Striders who like being muddy and wet.
Editors note : We now have a run report from Fran who has clearly decided to risk not getting a place next year
The Temple Newsam 10 and a bit miler opens for entry on August bank holiday and sells out pretty quickly. A great local(ish) race around the Temple Newsam estate and nearby Skelton County Park and is well organised by St Theresa’s Athletic Club. The TNT has a bit of everything: grass, tarmac, hills, woods and trails and plenty of infamous mud. It’s a beautiful route despite skirting the M1 and motorway services. The race is famous for its mud and plenty of runners are tough not timid, like the race’s strap line and embrace the puddle of doom and the mud fest at mile 9. The rest of the course was thankfully relatively dry! Quick race overview:
