Race Date: Saturday 16th December 2023
The Bingley Baubles is a challenging and scenic run over towpath, woodland and fields. The event, hosted by It’s Grim Up North Running provides options for those looking for a festive run. There are distances from 5k to the full marathon. Apparently an early present for finishers under the tree too. The runners take a looped course, close to the River Are and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and for those needing it, fully stocked Christmas themed feed stations.
The 10k was won by Cailum Earley of North Leeds Fell Runners in 39:57. The first female over the line was Jayne Coates, unaffiliated, in 01:00:49.
Just one Strider joined the festive fun, here is Dave’s result:
Position | Name | Category | Time |
6 | Dave Beech | M65 | 00:54:25 |
Well done to you Dave! Even more impressive is the fact that Dave ran the Roberts Park Parkrun the very same morning then jogged along the canal to get to the start of the 10k. He was 8 minutes late but managed to catch up and pass most of the 5k runners and thanks to chip-timing finished in 6th position overall!
