Race Date: Sunday 29th June 2025
If the RSR mania is all too much, one local alternative is the Bakewell Pudding Race.
Fun run and fell race start together, parting on the first hill before things get more challenging (although dodging excited children can be challenging).
The 10k continues on to the wooded hillside facing Bakewell’s Recreation Ground (where the race starts and finishes). The route soon becomes a technical climb with few opportunities to pass. Then comes a small loop followed by a long & leafy stretch across the hillside, with some sections of rocky trail to spice up the gradual descent.
The race finishes with a fun river crossing followed by a curved final push across the green. Finishers get a delicious, traditional Bakewell pudding.

In a repeat of last year, 5 Striders joined the field at the Pudding Race, making a total of 337 finishers. The men’s race was won by Daniel Haworth in a time of 00:36:46. Chloe Potter won the women’s race in a time of 00:41:29. Congratulations to Abbie Pearse and Caroline Brock, winners of bigger puddings (with writing!) by coming 2nd female/FSEN and first FV40 respectively.
