Race Date: Tuesday 3rd June 2025
Very similar to last year, an unsettled weather day preceded this year’s Burbage skyline fell race. Expertly organised by DPFR, there were 226 runners taking part. No compulsory kit requirement but I was very pleased to have my OMM water/wind proof jacket at the end as we hung around to cheer all the Striders home.
It’s a challenging course of 5.8 miles and 900 feet of elevation, made harder by the narrow paths and the difficulty in passing, making a good start important to final times and placing.
The male race was won by Daniel Haworth of Matlock AC in 37.43. The female race was won by our very own returning globetrotter, Abbie Pearse in 44.57. Recognition must also go to Strider, Darrel Porter, who won first MV40. Well done to everyone who ran.
