Race Date: Sunday 25th May 2025

A half marathon with beautiful views and big elevation (approx 460 metres), much of it packed into two climbs, one beginning around half a km from the start (190 metres elevation) and the second just over 7 miles in (140 metres). An epic downhill is sandwiched between the two, where some sheep were making well timed crossings on the day. The final miles zig zag through the streets of Buxton and the Pavilion Gardens, finishing in front of Buxton Pavilion. Weather for this year’s race was changeable, with some wind and some sunny spells.

Twenty-five Striders were among 392 runners who lined up for the Buxton Half. The men’s race was won by Steven Henderson of Sale Harriers Manchester in a time of 01:21:24. Cara Jasmine Bradley (unaffiliated) won the women’s race in a time of 01:34:08. Five Striders were among the prizes, with Kathy Liddiard and Nicola Rafferty taking first in their categories; Kathy was joined by Ellen Broad and Laura Mella in winning the female team prize.
