Race Date: Bank Holiday Monday 5th May 2025
A staple in the calendar, this bank holiday race is always well worth the effort. A lot of road and a bit of trail, it ticks the boxes. Very low key and good fun. With it being a fundraiser for the football club too, I don’t begrudge the £15 entry fee for a basic, no frills 10k – although we did get a medal at the end.
146 runners took part. The male race winner was Martin Dawson of North Derbyshire RC in 35.57. Strider Caroline Brock won the women’s race in 40.53, with Sian Evans and Gillian Allen making it a Striders 1,2,3 and showing the boys how it’s done.
