Lad’s Leap fell race was the third race in the 2025 fell race championships and we are starting to see the early battles take shape. Current standings listed below.
Female senior
Harriet Davies finished second lady at Lad’s Leap, picking up nearly 96 points and leaping to the head of the early leader board. Laura Rangeley also starts her season with a solid 70 points. They push Alice Taylor-Bennett (66 points) into third place.
Male senior
Will Leaning (75 points) still tops the charts, but Jim Rangeley picked up 70 points at Lad’s Leap and sits a close second. Connor Brown is on their shoulder in third with 68 points.
Male V40
With an excellent top 10 finish, Darrell Porter picked up another 78 points at Lad’s Leap and currently heads the MV40 race with 155 points from 2 results. He leapfrogs Richard Carter (139 points), with Andrew Mansfield (70 points) and Michael Raynor (67 points) well placed to chase.
Male V50
Russell Stevenson kicks off the MV50 table this year, with a solid 68 points from Lad’s Leap.
There have been no competitors yet in the other categories this year. However, with the clocks going forward, the shorter evening races are starting and we hope to see more of you out on the hills. Next races in the championships are: Totley Moor (Tue 20 May), Bamford Sheepdog Trials (Mon 26 May) and Edale (Sun 8 Jun).
