This race was the culmination of all the headtorch sessions over the winter period. As Tuesday fell races pop up over the summer months, they go straight into the Striders’ Tuesday fell session schedule. The aim of the sessions are always to get members confident with running over varied terrain and to have a go at some of the local fell races over the summer. We always go from a pub at 7pm on a Tuesday. If ever you want to join us, let me know and I’ll tell you where we’re going from.
Hartcliff Hill is a very gentle introduction to midweek local fell racing. The down side is the distance away from Sheffield but with a gentle incline and decline with only one short hill, it’s a great starting point. The next Tuesday away day is 20th May when we head over to The Cricket Inn for Totley Moor fell race.
129 runners turned up for the Hartcliff Hill fell race. The male winner was Lewis Roberts of DPFR in 27.48. The female winner was Suzanne McGill of PFRAC in 34.34. Well done to the 16 Striders in attendance
