Race Date: 4th October 2025.

This was the inaugural running of the event (from “Run for All”, them that brought you the Sheffield Half and 10k) with the added challenge of running in a named storm.
The start (and finish) were at the Lincolnshire Showground, so there was parking a-plenty, but the car parks were some distance away, and the route to the event village was not entirely clear. At the event village, the flatness of the terrain (which Lincolnshire is renowned for) and the relative lack of trees meant that there was no respite from the remnants of Storm Amy which was battering everyone.
We gathered in the start pens at the allotted time. The race itself was delayed (by about 15 minutes) to enable more competitors to complete the trek from the various car parks, Some runners were able to get in the centre of the pack gaining some protection from the gale.

After a short address by the Mayor of Lincoln, we were off.
The race starts with a run along the outskirts of the showground (providing both a headwind and a tailwind). We then took to the main road for the journey south to Lincoln proper.
There is a long straight (flat) road, and eventually the castle walls come into view, then there is a downhill section to the Cathedral and a meandering route through the city taking in the castle, university and the marina. Next comes the relatively short and sharp (certainly by Lincolnshire standards) uphill section taking us back north on the road we came in on. The side wind became more prominent as the protective buildings thinned-out as we returned to more rural parts.
Yes, this was an inaugural event, and some teething problems were to be expected, and they can hardly be blamed for the prevailing meteorological conditions, but on the other hand it was an interesting route, the race was well-marshalled, and there was a good vibe in the event village.
If it is a fast, relatively flat road half, with a mixture of rural and city sections (and with P.B. potential) that you are after, then this race may be worth considering.
Strider Karen Clark finished 2nd in her age category.
The race was won by Samuel Roberts (Retford AC) in 1:08:06 and Charlotte Knowles (Abbey Runners) in 1:18:43 .
