Four Striders headed to the Brownlee Centre in Leeds for the Annual Northern Masters 5K Championship. The race was held in wet and blustery conditions on a closed 1 mile circuit with medals awarded in 5 year age categories.

Striders medalists joined by F60 winner Anne Hegarty from Totley
Jed Turner was the sole male Strider in action. In a close tussle he edged out M65 rival David L’Anson from St Theresa’s by 17 seconds to claim the NMAC title.

Start of the race. Jed’s attempt to stay incognito is rather ruined by his fluorescent socks.
The women’s event saw our ever impressive F70 squad out in force. Dot Kesterton led the way, ably supported by Louise Rowley and Kate Waddicor for a Striders 1-2-3.
The Ken Mayor Trophy for the highest overall age grade performance was awarded to M90 Colin Spivey, triple European gold medalist, with a hugely impressive 93.09% for his 31.12 performance.
